Because of the Coronavirus, I am meeting families electronically by zoom (and if it is a short talk by phone)

NYC High School Consultant

Families can meet with me any time of year, often after they have been to my talk or become familiar with the high school application basics, but I am happy to help you start from scratch.

What you get in a private consult:

  • I will get an understanding of your student’s strengths, weaknesses and preferences, so we can tailor your list.

  • I clarify the whole dang mess.

  • The whole point of a consult is for you to come away with a workable short list that is curated for your specific student.

  • I will give you advice about how to refine your list with information that will unfold during application season, like your child’s tier for screened schools or when the random numbers are revealed. For example, how to consider a more conservative list or a riskier one and why.

  • I provide you with my wide ranging culled list of worthy programs, along with data for you to refer to afterwards, if you feel you want to revisit other options.

Early Bird Package

If you book a meeting before June 1 you get:

  • High School Loud & Clear webinar ($30 value)

  • 2 hour Zoom consult to construct a “short list of schools” ($520 value)

  • 45 min. follow up consult after your random number comes out, to finesse the list ($195 value)

  • $650. ($745 value)

If you have already attended the webinar $620.

Any consults booked after June 1 will be at the regular $260 hourly rate.

I often meet with both the parents and the students, but I don't have to. If your student is interested, I am happy to address the whole consult to them. If your student is actively NOT interested it may be a better use of time to only meet with you. If they want to lurk in the background, I am good with that too!

The process is the same citywide, but I am generally covering schools that Brooklyn and Manhattan students are geographically eligible for. For example: there will be a few schools in Queens that give priority to students citywide. I will cover those. Most schools in Queens give priority to zoned families or to Queens students or residents. I don’t cover those programs.

"I just want to reiterate how "worth it" the two hour session was; it is such a valuable service you provide! And its not just your knowledge but your ability to very quickly get an understanding of OUR kid, and not try to tell us how to change our child, but instead what programs are a best fit for (them). And not only am I excited to dig in, I told my child about our session over dinner tonight and (they) said something like ‘this lady has a cool job and is good at it’."
